Howard Brothers Joinery are recruiting for a CNC Operator to join our modern CAD/CAM Manufacturing Facility.

We design, manufacture and install exquisite bespoke joinery, bound for some of the world’s most exclusive residential addresses; a host of the UK’s most ancient and historic buildings; as well as the Capital’s leading corporate landmark developments.

The role of the CNC Operator will be based at our factory in East Sussex and will be responsible for producing processed panels to CNC manufacturing instructions and programme.

The role will require you to liaise with the CNC manager and works staff to manufacture components to required priorities and maintain continuous throughput on CNC machine where possible. A flexible approach and willingness to learn other aspects of joinery production are highly desirable.

Most of our works are based within the Home Counties and Central London, though we undertake work further afield when required.

 

The role requires you to:

  • Inspect materials before use and use your experience to determine if they are likely suitable for the task in hand.

  • Use designated CNC machinery, including the changing of blades and cutters as required.

  • Check all works once finished milling to ensure they align to the works order. 

  • Follow Company procedures relating to chain of custody.

  • Follow Company procedures relating to Quality, Health and safety and environment (QHSE).

  • Complete quality control records.

  • Raise Nonconformance Report’s through the works NCR system, so that improvements can be sorted.

  • Ensure all panels are marked up with the COC colours and relevant paperwork is attached.

  • Unload and load delivery vehicles including fork truck & banks man operation.

  • Minimise waste & maximise productivity

  • Work within HBJ Quality Acceptance Criteria

 

You will be:

  • Experienced with a wide range of mill machinery.

  • Able to work without immediate and continuous direction.

  • Equipped with a basic knowledge of PC programmes.

  • An ‘attention to detail’ oriented person, capable of maintaining the highest standards.

  • Able to follow internal procedures and complete records required to manage the project professionally and efficiently in line with Company standards.

  • Expected to undertake overtime, as and when required, to achieve project requirements.

  • Able to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for those you work with.
